Dialogue & Duet

The sample to start with. Casting directors listen for one thing before anything else: can this narrator hold two characters in the same scene without leaning on caricature? This cut is an M/F exchange with narration in between, the exact texture of a duet chapter.

Contemporary Romance

First-person male POV, present day, no accents to hide behind. Listen for the conversational ease and the moments where the humor gives way to something quieter. This is the register most of my solo work lives in.

Dark Romance

Dark romance fails in one of two ways: the narrator plays the villain as a monster, or plays him as a joke. This sample shows the third path, a controlled, quiet menace that stays attractive because it stays human. Mafia and antihero material sits in this same register.

Romantic Suspense

Pacing is the test here. A suspense scene needs momentum without rushing, and the romantic thread has to survive the adrenaline. Listen for the gear changes.

Romantasy

Fantasy romance asks for scale, invented names pronounced the same way in book one and book five, and a court's worth of characters who don't blur together. Paranormal romance draws on the same skills, with the darkness turned up.
